CINEMA’KET is CINEMATEK's new event for young film lovers! Whether you're young or old, cinema makes us laugh, cry or shiver... By filling us with wonder, surprising us and making us question things, it transports us into thousands of stories, from here and elsewhere, where we may sometimes speak a different language but where emotions are always universal.
The unique film collection of CINEMATEK, one of the most important in the world, today consists of about 180,000 copies of about 72,000 different titles: fiction films, documentaries, feature films, newsreels, short films, ... in both analogue and digital form. The collection consists of international and Belgian titles and grows every year by an average of 2,000 copies.
In addition to the film and film related collections, CINEMATEK also has a collection of important pre-cinema objects and cinematographic objects, such as magic lanterns and cameras. A part of this collection is shown in the Wunderkammer.
