On the Bowery, grand prix du documentaire au festival de Venise 1956 – le premier film états-unien à gagner ce prix – explore la grande artère de Manhattan dans sa partie la plus démunie. On y voit la vie quotidienne de quelques personnes au long d’une journée. Une forme de téléscopage qui cherche à ouvrir une autre voie vers la réalité. En avant programme, un court témoignage de Martin Scorsese en hommage au réalisateur.

Suivi d’une rencontre en français et en anglais entre le fils du réalisateur, Michael Ariel Rogosin, et le critique de cinéma Patrick Leboutte (INSAS).
